Wayside Family and Friends,

I appreciate your patience, as I know you all have been wondering about the status of the FUNd RUN. I’m bummed to say we will not be able to hold our event tomorrow due to weather conditions.

I have been in contact with the facilities manager and personally walked the site today. There are portions of the track that are currently under water, and not expected to clear by tomorrow. After careful consideration, we have decided it is in the interest of our students’ safety that we postpone our event.

Unfortunately, with the last day of school being next week, we will not be able to reschedule before the end of the school year. Rather than cancel, we have decided to postpone our 4th Annual FUNd RUN to the fall. I will be working with campus leadership to determine a new date. Once that date is confirmed, we will notify everyone and get it on our district calendar.

I appreciate everyone’s hard work and help in promoting and raising money to support this event. Although, we will not be running tomorrow, everyone will still receive this year’s t-shirt. Also, we will still be recognizing those students and campus that raised the most money. Please stay tuned as we calculate the totals for announcement next week.

Finally, this announcement will be posted to Facebook and the website, but please help spread the word so that all our families/friends are made aware.

Familias y amigos de Wayside,

Agradezco su paciencia , ya que sé que todos ustedes se han estado preguntando acerca de la situación del FUNd RUN . Desafortunadamente no vamos a poder tener el evento mañana debido a las condiciones meteorológicas. 

He estado en contacto con el supervisor de las instalaciones y yo fui personalmente a hablar con el. Hay partes de las pista que se encuentran actualmente bajo agua y no se espera que se sequen para mañana. Después de mucha consideración, hemos decidido que por la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes tenemos que posponer el evento.

Desafortunadamente, con el ultimo día de escuela siendo la próxima semana, no vamos a poder reprogramar el evento antes del fin del año escolar. En lugar de cancelar, hemos decidido posponer nuestro 4to FUNd RUN anual para el otoño. Yo estaré trabajando con el liderazgo de las escuelas para determinar una nueva fecha. Ya estando la fecha confirmada, nosotros notificaremos a todos y lo pondremos en nuestro calendario del distrito.

Estoy muy agradecida por el trabajo duro que todos hicieron y por la ayuda en la promoción y la recaudación de dinero para apoyar este evento . Aunque , no vayamos a correr mañana , los niños recibirán la camiseta de este año . También, estaremos reconociendo a aquellos alumnos y escuela que recaudo la mayor cantidad de dinero . Permanezca atento ya que calcularemos los totales y lo anunciaremos la próxima semana.
