Champions for Children

Purpose

The Champions for Children Award is designed to recognize outstanding staff members’ contributions to their school, excellence in the classroom, leadership, innovation, community involvement, continued learning and commitment to students, parents and colleagues. Any school staff members can be nominated for the award.

How

Nominations will be collected quarterly and can be completed by other staff members, community members, parents or students. Nomination forms can be found online on each campus’ website. At the end of each quarter, the nominations will be evaluated, with names redacted, by a Champions for Children committee that will include the principal, the Director of Curriculum and the Chief Academic Officer. Winners at each campus level will receive an award presented by the campus principal along with an 8×10 photo that will be posted on the campus’ Champions for Children display.  At the end of the year, all Champions for Children winners from each campus from each quarter will be evaluated by a larger committee to select an overall, Champion for Children winner for the year for the district.
