Who We Serve

The majority of students attending Wayside Schools live within 5 miles of our schools in the South Austin zip codes of 78744, 78745, and 78748.

The percentage of our students whose family incomes qualify them for free and reduced-price lunch is rising dramatically as we continue to expand our student population and enroll significantly more low-income students.

Our Need

Your support is important because although Wayside Schools is a tuition-free public charter school receiving state and federal funds, we are funded $1,500-$2,000 less per student than traditional ISDs and do not receive facility funds.

What Does That Mean?

We have to get creative to do more with less, and fundraise to bridge the financial gap. Access to our schools and our ability to ensure the success of every student would be jeopardized without the financial contributions of our supporters. Not only that, but fundraising also allows us to grow and serve more students and families in South Austin.
