Vision & Mission
Wayside Scholar Support Services Vision Statement:
The Scholar Support Services team at Wayside Schools will serve all scholars unique learning needs through ensuring appropriately rigorous individualized instruction and implementing positive behavioral supports. Each scholar and their family are active participants in the educational process and programming to actualize each individual scholar’s potential.
Wayside Scholar Support Services Mission Statement:
The Scholar Support Services team will work towards the Wayside Schools mission and vision by actively supporting the unique potential of every scholar receiving special education services. We will ensure access to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) so each scholar is prepared for their future, is engaged with their community and capable of meaningfully participating in our global society.

Notice of Destruction of Records
The Special Education Department of Wayside Schools is preparing to destroy personally identifiable information that is maintained to provide educational services to students with disabilities. This information includes referral data, notice/consent documents, assessment reports and supporting data, ARD Committee deliberations and the IEP. Records on students with disabilities who left the district prior to the 2018-2019 school year will be destroyed. Reasons for leaving include: graduation; dismissal from special education; dropping out; and moving from the district. Parents of students with disabilities or adult persons (age 18 and over) with disabilities whose records will be destroyed may notify Stephanie Kidd at skidd@waysideschools.org by September 30, 2024, should they want the records maintained.
Aviso de Destrucción de Expedientes
El Departmento de Educación Especial del Wayside Schools, está preparándose para destruir la información personal de estudiantes con discapacidad que conserva en sus archivos para proveerles servicios educativos. Esta información incluye los datos obtenidos cuando el estudiante fue referido al programa; documentos de notificación y consentimiento; evaluaciones e información de apoyo; deliberaciones del Comité de Admisión, Revisión y Retiro (ARD); y el Plan Educativo Individual (IEP). Se destruirán los expedientes de estudiantes con discapacidad que salieron del distrito antes del ciclo escolar 2018-2019. Las razones de salida incluyen: Graduación, retiro del programa de educación especial; abandonar la escuela; y mudarse fuera del distrito. Los padres de estudiantes con discapacidad, o adultos con discapacidad (18 años de edad o más) cuyos expedientes van a destruirse, sírvanse notificar antes del 30 de septiembre de 2024, a Stephanie Kidd al skidd@waysideschools.org, si desean que sus registros se conserven.
