Over the weekend, Wayside: Altamira Academy held a Family Service Day, during which its families came together to help make improvements to the school. One of the most exciting take aways from this event was the building and planting of a new community garden. The families helped set up 7 raised garden beds where they planted Rosemary, mint, tomatoes, and flowers. Wayside: AMA will continue to work with the garden over time.
In addition to the new garden, families also helped with variety of other beautification projects, including painting a crosswalk and bathrooms, setting up a preschool playground, decorating the third floor, and cleaning up trash.
Thank you to the parents who donated supplies and time to make this happen. Wayside: AMA is now a much more inviting place to be.
