Meet Our Leader

Jason Rubio, Principal

I am truly honored and excited to serve as the new Principal at STMS. I've been in education for 16 years. I've worked with at-risk youth in Education as a teacher and as an administrator at the JJAEP (Juvenile Justice school). I also taught as a corporate trainer and ESL teacher for adults. I taught math, reading, and social studies to youth returning to school to obtain their HSE/GED. I joined Wayside in July of 2024 and served as the Assistant Principal for two years.

I attended undergraduate and graduate school majoring in Education at Texas State University, and also graduated from UTRGV with a Master's of Public Affairs.

I look forward to working with all of the amazing staff, scholars, and families, and to having an amazing 2026 - 2027 school year.
